Audrey Tautou
Audrey Tautou was born in Beaumont in France's Puy-de-Domme on August 9 1976 the oldest of four children. Her parents, a dentist and teacher recognized and supported her love of theatre and drama since her early years, which overcame her initial ambition to be a primatologist due to her passion for monkeys. In her early years she became a star was rapid and marked with early recognition and success. In 1998 after her studies, she took part in an French talent-scouting television program called Jeunes Premiers that was sponsored by Canal+ and won Best Young Actress at the Beziers Festival of Young Actors before beginning her acting career with a bang. Tautou studied at in the Institut Catholique de Paris, and she attended church as a young girl. However she has now moved away from her religious background. She has stated that she is not necessarily Catholic. Alongside her acting career, Tautou has also been a model and the model for L'Oreal Mont Blanc as well as Chanel. She also has a serious photographic passion and has recently produced an exhibition of her photography at the Arles Festival with the name Superficial. The majority of her photography is focused on the spotlight and celebrities and is focused to the journalists who watched her in the wake of her rapid success in the film Amelie as well as self-portraits. Audrey Tautou became a star and gained international recognition with her debut role as Amelie Poulain from Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie. Amelie has been a global box-office hit and was recognized at many international awards ceremonies. It remains the highest grossing French language film in the US. The film's popularity led to Tautou's appearance in many films from British dramatics such as Stephen Knight's Dirty Pretty Things to Jean-Pierre Jeunet's film Un long Sunday de fiancailles, and then he moved into Hollywood with Ron Howard's direction of the Dan Brown bestseller The Da Vinci Code alongside Tom Hanks.
